The Notes App

I use my Notes app for everything.

Grocery lists. Random thoughts. Things I need to remember.

Last week, I found a note I didn't remember writing.

It was titled:

"Things to Remember."

There were only three lines.

  1. Lock the bedroom door.

  2. Don't trust the knocking.

  3. Delete this note before morning.

I laughed.

Probably something I'd written half-asleep.

I deleted it.

The next morning, it was back.

Same title.

Same three lines.

Except there was a fourth.

  1. You forgot again.

I started getting nervous.

I checked the edit history.

The note had been created three years ago.

That made no sense.

I hadn't even owned this phone three years ago.

Then I noticed a second note.

"Things She Needs to Remember."

I opened it.

There were hundreds of entries.

All dated different days.

Most of them said the same thing.

"She deleted the note."

"She forgot again."

"She still thinks this is her phone."

The latest entry was from five minutes ago.

"She's reading this one now."
